This piece quotes Edward Hicks' The Peaceable Kingdom, in a stylized landscape. This painting was inspired by a long ramble in the hills of Northern California, along the tops of a series of ridges where Native Americans once lived. You can see the Native Americans talking to Pennsylvania settlers in the distance of the Hicks vignette, and oddly, a lion and a tiger, as though this scene takes place in America, India and Africa simultaneously.
